Tour Description

A day to explore Skye…

This one-day adventure takes you through some of Scotland’s most iconic scenery.

An enjoyable journey to Skye…
Wave goodbye to Inverness as we cross over the Kessock Bridge. You’ll enjoy a comfort break in the lovely Kyle of Lochalsh, gateway to the Isle of Skye, a perfect place get a picture of the Skye bridge from.

Over the bridge…
Next we’ll cross onto the little island of Eilean Ban before reaching the star of this tour: Skye. Your tour of this magical island takes in the stunningly beautiful sight of the Cuillin Hills and the Sligachan Bridge.

Visiting the capital…
We stop in the town of Portree for lunch, it’s colourful harbour is one of the most recognisable spots of Skye. It is situated on the east side of the island and a wonderful place to enjoy fish and chips and watch the world go by. After a relaxing lunch, we'll head further north to see impressive sights such The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls.
Discover Scotland’s most iconic castle…
Next, we’ll make our way off the island and to Eilean Donan*, one of Scotland's most picturesque castles. It is perched on its own island at the head of Loch Duich. You will have enough time here to tour the castle inside and out.

Homeward bound
Your day concludes with a bit of monster spotting as you drive along the shores of Loch Ness. We will also stop close to the loch at the little village of Invermoriston, where you can take in the views and see a delightful ruined bridge which was designed by Thomas Telford, the same engineer who created the Caledonian Canal. You'll be able to snap some photos of Loch Ness before we return to Inverness.

Tour Reviews

Amazing tour! We did the small day tour to Isle of Skye, we followed the itinerary, our guide Victoria was amazing, super friendly and full of interesting stories and fun jokes. The tour is well planned with good stops that are well timed (so we had plenty of time to take pictures), and we even stopped to feed the coos, which was amazing, since half of the bus were crazy for coos, so we were super happy with this extra little bonus (you should make it permanent part of the tour)! Even if the tour started at 8am and we weren't back until 7.30pm, the way the tour is planned, the beautiful sights, and the amazing tour guide made the time fly leaving us wanting more of the Scottish Highlands! Thank you sooo much for an amazing experience!!!

We didn't have a car on our 2-week trip to Scotland. Public transportation was fine for getting to the cities, but we also wanted to see some of the more remote places. This tour did just that. Our guide was informed, engaging, and funny. And with just 15 seats on the bus the group was small enough we could ask plenty of questions, too. When we booked I was a bit concerned about feeling cooped up on the bus, but we made 11 stops, with over an hour at Eilean Donan and for lunch in Portree. I felt like we had enough time off the bus. Yes, it was a long day, 280 miles in all. That's unavoidable when covering so much in one day. This was easily better than driving, for avoiding stress and having a guide.
