Tour Description

Loch Lomond and the Highlands...

Leaving our departure city we head towards Loch Lomond (the largest expanse of fresh water in the country) where we stop off at the conservation village of Luss for coffee and sightseeing.

Highland Scenery and History...

We then head deep into the Highlands, passing through breathtaking scenery (including views along Loch Awe, the longest in Scotland). The countryside here is rich with history. We pass haunting Kilchurn Castle (historically a stronghold of the Campbell Clan) and the Pass of Brander (where Robert the Bruce had a notable victory).

Lunch at the sea-side town of Oban...

By lunchtime, you'll have reached Oban and will have time to explore this Victorian seaside town, climb up to McCaig's Tower, take in the views to the isles of Mull and Kerrera and try some of the freshest seafood you'll ever have tasted.

Coffee and Cakes at Inveraray by Loch Fyne.

On the way back to Edinburgh, you'll visit the seat of the Campbell Clan at Inveraray, where we'll stop so that you can enjoy ice-cream, homemade sweets, cakes and coffee and drink in the beauty of Loch Fyne.

Tour Reviews

Thank you to the staff of Highland Experience for allowing us to swap our booked tour to Oban the night before. It was a very enjoyable tour, our driver/tour guide Owen was entertaining and informative, with a great sense of fun. The scenery was beautiful, the little church that we stopped at had an amazing timber structure to the main roof and cloisters. The town of Oban was very picturesque with fresh fish and shellfish to die for at the "Green Tent " at a very reasonable price.

This was a great tour, it is a very long ride to Oban but our guide Rob was brilliant!! He was very entertaining and told us lots of interesting things. We got some extra ninja-photo-stops which made the tour even more interesting. The weather was great, the scenery was amazing and it was a really great day!!! We have done another tour with this company a year ago and the service was still just as great! We will use this company again on our next trip to Scotland!!

Great scenery along the way to the destination. Thanks for Brendan our guide and driver, with his jokes and explanation. Good lunch at Oban seafood restaurant. It is really worth short tour.

What a fantastic 1 day tour that takes you through the wonderful Scottish Highlands! Going through Loch Lomond, stopping for lunch in Oban (which has really nice seafood btw!), and then finishing off the day with the Inveraray and Loch Fyne (which really did look fine). Highly recommended tour as you get to experience the Highlands off the beaten path rather than going to the overcrowded Loch Ness! And the best part - the staff. Big thanks to Holly for helping me make the reservation, and a special mention to Lizzie - our guide for the day who has been an absolute star all day long! She even managed us to find some Heilan Coos to take pictures with, even though they were not on our itinerary! Massive thanks for making our day.
