You'll depart Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh or largest city, Glasgow and begin the journey north. Our route to Skye takes you via Loch Lomond via the Trossachs National Park. We'll stop in a picturesque village, where you can relax over a cup of coffee or explore at your leisure.?You’ll get stunning views of the UK’s largest expanse of freshwater, Loch Lomond. Your driver-guide will tell you the history and theories behind the "The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond" song as you enjoy the stunning scenery of this area.
As you continue further north into the Scottish Highlands you'll watch in awe as the landscape becomes more and more dramatic. Glen Coe is one of the most incredible places in Scotland. Learn the brutal story of the MacDonald Clan massacre and take in the weeping waterfalls that inhabit this incredible glen.
This highland town of Fort William marks the end of Scotland’s oldest and most popular long-distance walks, The West Highland Way. Here, you can take in views of Ben Nevis, the UK's tallest peak. Standing at 1,345 metres above sea level, it is often known to both locals and visitors as simply "the Ben".
As we near the coast, we pass Eilean Donan Castle*. Here you have the chance to take photographs and see the castle that featured in the film Highlander. It's stunning location, perched on its own little island overlooking the Isle of Skye, means it's hard to get a bad shot of this castle. It's often chosen as the feature for many shortbread tins and Scottish calendars. After a day of exploring it's now time to cross the Skye bridge to the Isle, our final resting stop of the day.
The tour was exceptional! I was very pleased and truly enjoyed the entirety of the trip. John did a brilliant job as our guide, being both knowledgeable and humorous, and doing his absolute best to cater to us all and introduce as to as many elements of Skye and the highlands as he could. Really worth the security, comfort and knowledge all tied in together as one beautiful trip. Particularly for me, given I had such a limited time to get an overview of Scotland. 15/10.
Greg was an amazing guide and driver!! He is knowledgeable, safe driver, available and very friendly.. I had a wonderful time... I enjoyed a lot the tour and since we were a small group of people we had the chance to know each other. The highlands and the Isle of Skye will be forever on my heart.. I hope to coming back soon! I highly recommend to rely on your company for a tour on the highlands... I am 100% satisfied :)
Loved it. John was great! Thanks for the tour
John is great, funny and explained everything beautifully. Recommend to all
I booked this tour last minute. Overall it was one of the best experiences I have had with tours. Our Tour Leader (Stephen) was very nice, he knew a lot about nature, culture, myths and urban legends. He took time to stop and gave an brieve explanation about castles, but especially on Skye Islands. He shown us a lot. everything went smoothly and it was well organized. Because of all the haste, I unfortunately forgot to give the tour leader a tip. I will travel through this organization again next time I am in Scotland! Thank you
If you want to see the best of Scotland at a leisurely pace and wake up by the shores of Loch Ness, then this is the tour for you. You may even see Nessie.
Follow in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie as you travel north. Then board the world-famous Jacobite Steam Train.
